Jazmyn Keann White's Style Inspiration

Style is what you carry. It is your truth unobstructed, it your soul projected from yourself, says Jazmyn Keann White. My relationship with style is personal, unique, and rooted in the powerful influences of both my family and the iconic figures who defined glamour and independence for generations. First and foremost, my very first and most enduring style inspiration has always been my mother. She was a fashion major at the Atlanta Art Institute in the 1970s, and to this day, she remains the most fashionable person I have ever known. Watching her put together an outfit was like watching art come to life. Her eye for detail and her confidence in her look taught me that fashion is about owning who you are, and never being afraid to stand out. Style goes beyond garment but it's hair, makeup and your overall vibe. What you visually surround yourself with.

I draw alot of style inspiration from; Tom Ford the man, Bianca Jagger, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Diahann Carroll, and Eartha Kitt. Each of these women brought something unique to the worlds of performance and fashion and Tom Ford is an icon in the design world. Nina Simone’s deep connection to her roots, her refusal to compromise, and her sense of drama inspire every bold accessory I choose and every fearless color combination I experiment with. Diahann Carroll’s poise and sophistication are ever-present in my love for clean lines, structured tailoring, and timeless silhouettes. And Eartha Kitt’s unapologetic sensuality and playful spirit remind me to infuse each outfit.

Diana Ross’s presence, from glimmering gowns to plush furs, is a master class in commanding a room, her iconic on-stage sparkle echoes in my ongoing obsession with metallics. And Bianca Jagger’s insouciant mix of suiting and glamour defines my approach to blending masculine tailoring with feminine statement pieces. Between Diana’s disco dazzle and Bianca’s Studio 54 cool, I draw inspiration for outfits that turn heads and break conventions.

Tom Ford stands out not just as a legendary designer but as one of my personal style inspirations. His approach, bold, utterly luxurious, and always confident, reminds me to choose pieces that make me feel powerful. I love his ability to make even the simplest cut look rich and distinctive. Ford’s unapologetic attitude toward pushing aesthetic boundaries gave me the freedom to fully embrace my love for unique materials and custom details.

Growing up with these influences, I found myself especially drawn to the energy of the 1970s and 1980s. These decades celebrated expression and experimentation in fashion. The 70s will always have my heart: flowing bellbottoms, dramatic collars, and earthiness mixed with dazzling disco glamour. Meanwhile, the 80s gifted us with power shoulders, vivid colors, and a certain unstoppable audacity. My wardrobe borrows freely from both, although I am rarely ever not wearing black.

And leather, oh, how I adore leather. For me, leather isn’t just a material; it’s a canvas. Vintage or new, soft or strutted, I approach every piece as a chance to transform and reimagine it. My signature is custom-dyed leather in Pantone shades you simply won’t find anywhere else: a perfect sunrise gold, the richest jade green, the kind of purple that stops traffic. These aren’t just colors; they’re moods, moments, and memories dyed into wearable works of art.

For me, true style is a conversation between eras and personalities, a tribute to the legendary women (and men) who have shaped my point of view, and most importantly, a celebration of individuality. My hope is that my designs and my personal style honor those bold spirits and inspire others to find their own edge, in their own way, every single day.
